“For too long, our democracy has failed to live up to its ideal of being of, for, and by all people. New Americans, people of color, and other marginalized groups have been excluded from positions of power, left to deal with the consequences of decisions made for us but without us. Our newest slate of trailblazing endorsees are here to change this,” said Ghida Dagher, CEO and president of New American Leaders Action Fund
“These candidates are running to put an end to politics as usual and represent our growing political power,” she continued. “As New Americans and community advocates, they know firsthand the impact that policy decisions can have on the lives of those not at the political table. And with the rise of the Republican party’s xenophobic, oppressive agenda, they know just how much is at stake this election. That’s why they are committed to running community-centered, inclusive campaigns that not only helps them win their elections, but builds lasting political power and engagement to create long term, systemic change.”
“These candidates are the leaders our communities—and our country—have been waiting for. We are proud to join them in this critical election as they work to protect our rights, tackle systemic injustices, and usher in an inclusive new era of our democracy.”
