Support Ianthe Metzger's Birthday Fundraiser for NALAF
Hello friends and family,
As some of you may know, I recently joined the board of the New American Leaders Action Fund (NALAF), the C4 arm of an organization dedicated to building an inclusive democracy by bringing immigrants and new Americans into the political process and helping run for office and win. America is a nation of immigrants and New American Leaders understands that when this country's leaders are as diverse as the people it represents, important and inspiring things can happen, that improve all our lives.
Before I joined the NALAF board I had the opportunity to speak on a crisis communications panel at NAL's Power and Policy convening last year and serve as a judge at their Ready to Win advanced campaign bootcamp training this past summer. Every experience I've had and every person I've met through NAL and NALAF has given me hope — hope that is much needed during this when it's been easy to feel discouraged and apathetic. NALAF's work is more important than ever as attacks on diversity and inclusion grow and organizations, companies, and institutions back away from their past promises and commitments.
Part of my charge as a board member is to help fundraise for NALAF so we can help more New Americans run and win, continue spreading the word about the organization, and eventually change our elected government from city council to Congress. For my birthday this year, I'm asking friends and family to donate to this incredible organization. No amount is too small. And if you can't give, I'd love to talk to you about the work NALAF is doing and what we have planned in the year ahead. Thanks for your consideration and thanks for being in my life!
