New American Leaders Action Fund Launches Final Round of Endorsements in Georgia, Michigan, and Ohio

With just over one month to go before the general election, New American Leaders Action Fund (NALAF) announced its final slate of endorsed candidates in key races in Georgia, Michigan, and Ohio. The endorsees include:

  • Segun Adeyina; candidate for State House of Representatives, District 110; Georgia

  • Ruwa Romman; candidate for State House of Representatives, District 97; Georgia

  • Rima Mohammad; candidate for Ann Arbor Public School Board; Michigan

  • Ranjeev Puri; candidate for State House of Representatives, District 24; Michigan

  • Anupam Sidhu; candidate for Plymouth-Canton School Board; Michigan

  • Munira Abdullahi; candidate for State House of Representatives, District 9; Ohio

“The need for a new generation of bold, progressive elected leaders has never been more clear. Especially in key states like Georgia, Michigan, and Ohio where national issues are playing out in school boards, city councils, and state legislatures, it is essential that New Americans are represented and included in the decision making process,” said Ghida Dagher, CEO and president of New American Leaders Action Fund. 

“With the rise of the Republican party’s far right agenda, everything from the right to vote and bodily autonomy to ensuring students have inclusive, historically accurate curriculum are on the line,” Dagher continued. “These candidates understand what is at risk and are running community-centered campaigns to push back against this extreme platform and are building lasting political power in immigrant communities and communities of color. Their community centered approach lifts up the voices of all people, ensuring our democracy lives up to the promise of being of, for, and by all people.”
