New American Leaders Action Fund Announces 2022 Arizona Endorsements
Ahead of the August 2nd primary election, New American Leaders Action Fund (NALAF) announced its newest slate of endorsed candidates, focusing on trailblazing immigrant candidates in Arizona. Their 2022 Arizona endorsee cohort includes:
Anna Hernandez; candidate for Arizona State Senate, District 24
Analise Ortiz; candidate for Arizona State House of Representatives, District 24
Christian Solorio; candidate for Arizona State House of Representatives, District 26
“In the face of mounting attacks on voting rights, reproductive freedoms, and white supremacist led conspiracy theories in the Arizona legislature, it has never been more clear that Arizona needs a new cohort of leaders,” said Basi Alonso, political director for New American Leaders Action Fund. “New Americans will not tolerate these attacks on our rights or our communities. That’s why leaders like Anna Hernandez, Analise Ortiz, and Christian Solorio are stepping up to run for office, organizing their communities, and challenging the political status quo to create an Arizona that works for all people and strengthens our democracy.
“Especially in swing states like Arizona, their work is critical not only to the future of Arizona politics, but our nation as a whole. Their community-centered campaigns generate civic engagement within immigrant communities and communities of color, changing policy conversations and building an inclusive political ecosystem that empowers future New American candidates,” she continued. “They are not only working to protect our communities today but strengthen our democracy as a whole.
“Our rights, our lives, and the future of our democracy are on the line. These candidates understand what is at stake and are committed to creating the changes we need. We are proud to support them as they work to create a democracy that works for and represents all of us.”
