NORTH CAROLINA

Nida Allam for North Carolina’s 4th Congressional District

In 2015, after three of her friends were killed in the Chapel Hill hate crime shooting, Nida Allam was moved to act and channel her loss into selfless action in the service of her community. In 2020, she won her race for Durham County Commissioner, becoming the first ever Muslim woman elected to office in North Carolina. Now, she is running for U.S. Congress to continue to honor their legacy and to fight against injustice. 


Frederick Ravin III  for Durham Public School's Board of Education, Consolidated District B

Frederick is running for a second term on Durham Public School's Board of Education. As a proud parent of Durham public school children, he has a track record of advocating for the most vulnerable students and families in the district. Moved to act after having to navigate the school system as his son's advocate to access special needs services, Frederick is running to ensure teachers, students, and families have the resources and support they need to thrive. 

NEVADA


Nancy Brune for Las Vegas City Council, Ward 6    

Nancy is an advocate for improving the lives of people in her community and with an extensive background in education policy, including serving on President Obama’s Commission on Educational Excellence for Hispanic Americans. She is committed to creating equity in education, expanding affordable housing, and increasing government transparency for the families of Las Vegas. Nancy is running for a seat that was previously held by a far-right Republican. When elected, Nancy will be the first Latina to represent Ward 6 in Las Vegas.


Cecelia González for Nevada State Assembly, District 16

As the first queer AAPI elected to the Nevada State Legislature and the first Thai woman elected in the state of Nevada, Assemblywomen González is no stranger to overcoming barriers and getting things done! She draws from her experiences growing up in a working class immigrant household, serving as a fierce advocate for the working class and the most underserved Nevadans. Assemblymember González is also a champion for criminal justice reform, education, and expanding healthcare and more. 


Jovan Jackson for North Las Vegas City Council, Ward 3

Jovan is running to unseat a conservative Republican and be a champion for some of the most marginalized voices in his community. When elected, Jovan will be the first formerly incarcerated person ever elected in Nevada. In 2019, after the Nevada State Assembly restored voting rights for those with felony convictions, Jovan became the first to register to vote in the state. Jovan knows from experience how easy it is to fall through the cracks and the importance of having access to quality mental health and healthcare services. He is running to ensure the voices of the most vulnerable in his community are heard and will fight to keep Nevada affordable for working-class families. 


Sandra Jauregui, Nevada State Assembly, District 41

Assemblywomen Jauregui is the daughter of Mexican immigrants. She was first elected in 2016 and has since fought to ensure that all Nevadans have access to the same quality opportunities regardless of income, immigrations status, or race. As an incumbent of the Nevada State Assembly l, she has a proven record of working tirelessly  to support legislation on environmentally responsible development, eliminating barriers to switch healthcare, including Medicare, and financial reforms. 


Brittney Miller for Nevada State Assembly, District 5

Assemblywomen Brittney Miller has represented Nevada’s 5th Assembly District since 2016. During her time as an assemblymember, she has sponsored over a dozen bills focusing on education, criminal justice, and election reforms. A proven champion for working families in Nevada, she will continue to prioritize the issues facing everyday Nevadans in the Assembly and be an advocate for New Americans across the state. 


Erica Mosca for Nevada State Assembly, District 14

Erica is the proud daughter of an immigrant, a first generation college graduate, and a proud East Las Vegas resident. She is running to be a bold voice in the Nevada Assembly, bringing her experience as a former teacher and current non-profit executive director to the legislature. She is grounded in community, her experience as a New American, and her working-class background. When elected, Erica will be the first Filipino/a to serve in the Nevada State Legislature.


Rochelle Nguyen for Nevada State Assembly, District 10

Assemblywoman Rochelle Nguyen, the daughter of a Vietnamese father and American mother, is running to represent her community for a third term in the Nevada State Assembly. First elected in 2019, Assemblywoman Nguyen was the first AAPI woman and the first AAPI Democrat to serve in the Nevada legislature. She has a track record of delivering for New Americans through her work to expand affordable healthcare, increase school funding to give teachers a raise, expand language access, address gun violence, and reform our criminal justice system.


Selena Torres for Nevada State Assembly, District 3

Born and raised in Las Vegas, Assemblywoman Torres has been a proud District 3 resident for most of her life. As a teacher and proud daughter of a Salvadoran immigrant, she works to ensure all Nevadans have opportunities to live a life with dignity, regardless of their immigration status, race, gender, or socioeconomic background. As the chair of the Nevada Hispanic Legislative Caucus, she proudly sponsored legislation for state-funded deportation defense and funded programs for English Language Learning (ELL) students.


GEORGIA 


Dr. Michelle Au for State House District 50 

Dr. Michelle Au is a current Georgia State Senator and second generation Chinese American running to represent District 50 in the Georgia State House. As a state senator, she championed over 190 bills to improve the lives of immigrants and underserved communities, from increasing healthcare access, expanding voting rights, reforming law enforcement, improving educational outcomes for underserved populations, and requiring the use of non-English languages in governmental services. 


Erendira Brumley for State House District 51

Eren Brumley is a first generation candidate for Georgia’s State House, District 51. Erendira has spent years volunteering and organizing her community to increase civic engagement. She is now taking the leap from helping others participate in elections to running in one! Erendira is running to ensure Georgians can access the opportunities needed to live a life with dignity by fighting for critical issues like quality healthcare and affordable housing. 


Jason Esteves for State Senate District 6

Jason Esteves is running for Georgia’s State Senate District 6. Jason is already a trailblazing leader, having made history as the first Latino to be elected to a school board in Georgia! As an Atlanta Public Schools School Board Member, he worked to increase the pay for teachers and staff, ensured APS quickly and safely responded to the needs of students and families during the COVID lockdowns, and championed initiatives to make APS a more welcoming environment for all students. Jason is now running for Georgia State Senate to strengthen schools across Georgia, fight for healthcare expansion and continue to push back against attacks on the most marginalized and vulnerable communities.
