Immigrant Political Organization, New American Leaders Action Fund, Endorses Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for President and Vice President
New American Leaders Action Fund, an organization with the mission of bringing first- and second- generation immigrants into the political process, is announcing its endorsement of Vice President Joe Biden and Senator Kamala Harris for President and Vice President of the United States of America. President and Founder Sayu Bhojwani released the following statement on the endorsement:
“Our work at the New American Leaders Action Fund is powered by the simple idea that representation matters. We believe deeply that immigrants are essential to the fabric of our country, and that our voices and experiences make a difference, and elevate this nation. We are inspired by the historic nature, and the many ‘firsts’ of Senator Harris’ candidacy for Vice President, as a Black woman, and as a child of immigrants. This is a truly momentous moment for all of us who see themselves in her in some way.
Beyond the meaningful representation, their commitments to: make DACA permanent, cancel the Trump Administration’s over 400 executive orders on immigration, reverse his asylum policies and wealth test, and increase the admission cap for refugees, among others are steps towards dismantling the dangerous white supremacy of the Trump White House.
What we know is that our very existence is threatened by another four years of a Trump Administration, and that immigrants will shape the outcome of this election. Donald Trump and Mike Pence simply must go, and that is why we are proud to endorse Vice President Joe Biden and Senator Kamala Harris as our next President and Vice President of the United States of America. New American Leaders Action Fund is committed to working with the next Administration—and holding them accountable to addressing systemic racism, promoting immigration policies rooted in dignity, and breaking down the barriers that prevent New American representation at every level of the government to ensure that we are living in a country that we can be proud to call home.”
