  • Erica Mosca, candidate for Nevada State Assembly, District 14

  • Rochelle Nguyen, candidate for Nevada State Assembly, District 10

  • Frederick Ravin III, candidate for Durham School Board, Consolidated District B

  • Selena Torres, candidate for Nevada State Assembly, District 3

“From city councils to Congress, New Americans are taking the future of our democracy into our own hands,” said Ghida Dagher, president of New American Leaders Action Fund. “These 10 candidates are running to represent their communities and strengthen our democracy, challenging the idea that only the pale, stale and male can run, win and lead.

“All elections, but especially those in toss up states like Nevada and North Carolina, will be won by campaigns who engage New American voters. Our endorsed candidates recognize this and are running community-centered campaigns that honor the unique culture and needs of each of their neighbors. We know that this long term investment will lead to wins in the primaries and beyond for NALAF endorsees and New American candidates up and down the ballot.

“Immigrant communities and communities of color are tired of hearing that we are a priority for establishment candidates, only to have them show up six weeks before an election with a half-hearted get out the vote operation. We have immense political power and will not allow our voices or votes to be taken for granted. Democrats need to follow the example of our endorsees and make their tactics match their talking points.

“Our communities deserve the kind of deep investment our endorsees commit to. As the only national organization empowering and supporting New American, BIPOC candidates, NALAF is proud to endorse these 10 trailblazing, community-centered candidates and we look forward to seeing them lead the way to a stronger, more inclusive democracy.”
